rta settlement cheque

could someone please help me, i was inovled in a passenger car acc, which was the other parties fault and he claimed full liablity this was 13 months ago. since then ive accapted a logment of 4000 pound over 5 weeks ago as yet i have still not recived a penny. my solictor is being no help at all and ive herd nothing from her apart from shes chaced it up and will contact me as soon as it comes through this was weeks ago and she informed me it would only take a few weeks. i would just like to no how long should this take to come to me.

It can take some time if the third party start to be bloody minded.  My daughters case was settled in October 2010 and she received her cheque 2 weeks ago (April 2011),

Solicitors can and will chase up, but insurers are sometimes a law onto themselves, and so it probably needs your solicitor to start making noises about making an official complaint to the Insurance Ombudsman.  That usually starts to focus their minds a bit.

thank you very much at least thats some sort of answer for me. my solictor told me its the courts who havent released it as yet i guess ill just have to be patience.
