Non committal advice needed?

I was in a no fault RTA April 2009, other party accepted all liability immediately.  Since the accident I have been dealing with third party insurance company.  My injuries consisted of whiplash, lower back and knee injury.  I have been to see 3 consultants arranged by this insurance company who have said that knee injury is soft tissue.   The insurance company did arrange physio therapy for me but currently I am still suffering with whiplash, lower back and knee injury (after 2 years).  The insurance company have now made me a compensation offer and I don't know if this is a fair offer and also don't know if I should accept based on the fact that I am still suffering.

Does anyone know a lawyer would could provide impartial advice on whether the offer made by the 3rd party insurance company is fair or if I should seek to engage a lawyer to take this forward for me?

Get a local personal injury solicitor involved as soon as possible.

When you deal with the third party insurers yourself, they willl usually short change you and undervalue your claim on the basis that you have no understanding of how the system works and therefore as you rightly point out you don't know whether the offer is reasonable or not.

A solicitor will be able to represent you under a no win no fee agreement if you need to instruct, but in any case will offer you a free consultation to discuss the merits and values of the case.

By the sounds of it, the fact that you still have an ongoing problems suggests you need proper legal representation sooner rather than later.

Thanks for your response.  Do you know the best way to find a local personal injury solicitor.  When I google the market seems to be flooded with 'no win, no fee' companies and this has always overwhelmed me which is one of the reasons why I have not gone down that route to date.

Thanks

Don't be put off by the fact that they (solicitors)  advertise and offer no wiin no fee, it is the best way to get your case funded, and in fact since 2001 when legal aid was removed from personal injury cases, it is the only way to get funded unless you have legal expenses insurance or you pay for it yourself and then claim the costs back at the end of the case which can become expensive, very expensive.

No win no fee means exactly that.  The solicitor will enter into what is called a Conditional Fee Gareement (the proper name for no win no fee) and what it means is that if and when you win, they claim their costs back from the third party insurers and you keep 100% of your compensation.  If you were to lose, they get paid nothing, but it also means that you do not get a nasty bill as they will takke out what is called an after the event insurance to protect you.

Some accident claims or accident management companies run by different rules as they will often sell your case to the highest bidder, but if you look for a local solicitor who specialises in personal injury in your area and who offers a no win no fee arrangement, then give them a call and chat to them.  They should explain everything, and to be fair there are good and bad out there, so shop around until you find someone you feel comfortable with.

Hope this has helped
