Hit by a car in a pub carpark

I was minding my own business, chatting with some work collegues today at lunch when a car was trying to park in a space next to me. As they turned in to park their bumper came very close to my chair and almost hit me.

So my question is, if they had hit me y would I be entitled to any compensation?
And do I have to be injured to make any claim against the driver?
