injury at work!

hi all just wanted some advice really in regards to an accident i had at work, i am an air conditioning engineer and was working on a flat roof the guys on site had stuck pieces of wood on top of the ac units with nails in to prevent pidgeons landing as i had refused to work on there before! I slipped and i ended up with the nail in my hand! rusty and with pidgeon excrement covered on it, i got home yesterday after having a op on my hand as the nail went as far as a finger boneits now in a cast for a week or 2 then stitches come out etc, but my employer has already said to me and a guy who was with me that its my fault?? but in another sentence he has told me he will be paying me my wage?? we dont get paid while being off normally and think this is very strange?? i have since spoke to other people from my firm and they told me the office are worried i will be making a claim against one of our biggest contracts?? the hse i think have been informed and just wondered were do i stand??

thanks a lot

Mechanic lien can become even more complicated when the owner has paid the contractor for work, but has failed to pay their subcontractors. As a subcontractor, you may still have a right to file a mechanic lien against the property. A construction litigation attorney will be able to help determine what your legal rights are and help you proceed accordingly. breach of contract construction lawyer

This is an injury on the job site, and it appears that paying you is to try and keep you happy.  At the very minimum, they should still be paying you and covering all medical expenses.  Before doing anything drastic, I would simply talk to my manager or someone in HR. If you are not satisfied at that point, then you might consider looking for an attorney.  Have you thought about using www.indianapolisinjury.net?

Adam,

Regardless of whether you were working on your employer's site or not at the time of the accident you are covered by YOUR employer's liability insurance as legally they are responsible for your Health and Safety during working hours as much as a School is responsible for children during school hours both on and offsite (Anotherwords they will be concerned that you will claim against them not their biggest contract!).
This being said you seem to have a potentially good claim for compensation and it does appear that your employer may be trying to pay you off by paying your wages in full, despite this not being usual practice whilst employees are off sick.

Should you still wish to make a claim please contact me on 01384620701/07772650364
