slipped on broken glass in bar

I was on a night out and dancing in the middle of the dancefloor when i slipped on a lot of broken glass.  I fell directly into it on my left leg which caused a large gash under my knee and alot of bleeding, i also had a few more cuts lower down the leg.

Went to hospital and had to have 12 stiches and sterostrip (sp?) on the main cut and the other cuts also needed the strip.  I am going to have a few scars over my leg once it has healed, one of which is very big.  The cuts could even get infected yet, they are very painful

I have lots of pictures of the cuts before and after stiching.

I can hardly walk at the moment (3 days after) and im finding it extreamly difficult looking after my 9 month old baby.

Any advise?

Michelle - you may have a claim for compensation.

The club have an obligation to visitors, such as you, to ensure that their premises are safe. In short they should have kept the floor clean.

You shoud speak to a solicitor about making a claim.

Hi Michelle

I agree with Matyn a few things to add, if not already done make sure the matter is reported in the clubs accident book.  If not done at the time it weakens the case significantly however most people would still rememeber the accident taking place now if you reported it to the club on the night so having it put in the accident book would not be an issue.  If you leave it too long you will have problems.

Also make sure you go to follow up appointments etc so that the hospital can do whatever they can to keep the scarring to a minimum.  If you think it is becoming infected go sooner rather than later, the more the skin breaks down due to infection the worse the scarring generally is.

Hope this helps.
