Beverley - have you seen a solicitor about this?

If so you should, by now, have seen a medical expert and your solicitor should have a report upon your injuries. That should give you some idea of a recovery period or at least some idea when your injuries can be reassessed.

If not - you can ask your solicitor to ask the medical expert.

Hi Beverly

Sorry to hear about your accident.  As Matryn above has explained if you have not got a solicitor yet please do find one.  When you commence a claim against the insurance company they should automatically assign rehabilitational services to you on a private basis.  Our solicitors indeed use an independent service and then claim this back from the insurers at a later stage.

The rehabilitation will be on a private basis and will include things like physiotherapy etc.  You will also be seen, if required, by sugeons etc who will arrange your surgery for you on a private basis also so you dont have to wait for the NHS.

Making a claim for compensation is often seen as just a way of making extra money from an accident when indeed it is a valuable part of your rehabilitation also as any medical needs will be dealt with immediately.

You will also be seen by a medico legal expert to assess your injuries and future treatment requirements who will provide a medical report in relation to your injuries for the purposes of valuation and future handling of your claim for personal injury.  Until you have this report unfortunately it would be incorrect of anyone to provide exact views on the value of your claim.  Any solicitors dealing with your claim with all of the information however would be able to assist you and provide you with some guidance.

I hope this helps. Feel free to contact me via our website if you wish to discuss the matter further.

I am pleased you have solicitors.  As said above especially as liability is admitted any surgery you require should now be provided on a private basis if the experts think this should happen sooner rather than later ask your solicitors to deal with this for you.

Good luck and I wish you all the best
