Reversing accident

Today I reversed into a bollard, yes this sounds a bit dippy, but I refuse to take the blame.
The accident happened at a well known fast food outlet. I waited a good while to order, then they did not have what I wanted (a core menu item). I could see if I waited in line to escape this would have made my late, and I refuse to be imprisoned in the que of cars.
There were no cars behind, so I reversed out of the lane, then went to turn and hit the bollard. I did not see this bollard as it was not visibal and lower than my mirrors. My question is can I claim for the damage to my car? Surley they have a duty to ensure that these bollards are visable.

Hi Kelly

Unfortunately not.  My guess is that the owner of the bollard would simply ask you to pay to replace it.  It seems you left in a little bit of a hurry, maybe too much so.

Sorry we could not help on this one but I am certain everyone who advises here will say the same thing.
