As your accident happened at a light controlled junction it will become complicated the reason being that you will say one thing and the other party will obviously say something else in order to allieviate the blame from him.
Your 3 witnesses are the most important asset you have. Contact them get their full details and pass them immediately to your insurers and make sure they contact them. If you wish also take written statements from them and send them to the insurers. MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS IMMEDIATELY and let your insurers know that you are not happy with the decision and ask them NOT to admit liability UNTIL they have this information.
If the insurers decide you are at fault after this unfortunately there is not much you can do. Under the terms of your insurance policy they are able to have the final decision. However if you push them not to agree liability you may have a chance of making them defend your position. At worst this matter ought to settle 50/50.
