I was hit by a van whilst crossing the road!

Hi, I was wondering if you can help me please? I was hit by a van last November whilst crossing the road. This has left me with three fractured vertebrae of the spine. I put a claim through but the solicitors have now told me they can't continue with the case as no witnesses came forward and they can't see it standing up in court. I know I wouldn't just step out behind a parked car in to the road, without looking. I'm in a lot of pain and haven't been able to work since the accident. I'm looking for some advice as to whether somebody could take this on for me. There was another two passengers in the van as well as the driver and I've been told they are more or less witnesses. Please help if you can?
