high speed car crash

in August i as driven off the road by an Eddie Stobart lorry tying to overtkake me at 60 MPH . I was forced into the left barrier and then crossed the carriageway hitting the central barrier head on before spinning out and hitting the left barrier again ending up facing the right direction.
thankfully I was able to walk away but suffered whiplsh, back and shoulder injuries for which I have just started 8 weeks of physio.
at the time of the accident i was off work for anxiety depression and seeing a counsellor. At the specilaist medical appointment which fiollowed I outlined my ptsd symptoms arising from the accident which included travel anxiety as a passenger and now as a driver, flashbacks and nightmares , the 'what might have been'. These symptoms are ongoing. I explained to the doctor that i would use my existing counsellor , who was suitably qualified to work thro' these problems rather than engage something else.
I have been advised by the solicitor acting , appointed by my insurance co, that I will not be able to claim for the psychological traumas  suffered and the quantum of my claim will not be taken on the various injurues to neck back and shoulder which resulted from the nature of the collision , 4 separate impacts, but as a multi site injury.
They recommend looking to settle for Â?1800 now rathe rthan wait for the prognosis after the end of the physio.
The inital and quite cursory examination by the specilaist apponted treats my injuries ans mild to moderate with recovery within 12 months, although my shoulder is particularly sore , if not getting worse.
i have no idea whether the advice re the quantum of the claim is reasonable in it's assumption re the injuries and in seemingly not accounted for the psychological trauma which is still very real for me. any advice in this regard would be appreciated. I am at a loss of what to expect . i am a reasonable chap and do not have pound signs but I am angry about the circumstances of the crash and the effects it has had on me .
thanks

Hi Stretton Blue

ARRRRRRR QUCKLY PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE appoint a solicitor to deal with this for you.  I hope Im not too late to tell you this as I note your post was sime time ago.  I dont care who it is you choose but make sure they have expertise in Personal Injury.  At the moment the insurers are taking you for a ride.....and it annoys me so much.

First of all you can only claim once for your claim.  if you accept Â?1800 now you can never return to them for more!

Secondly your claim for General Damages (Injuries and sufferring) will be dealt with as a whole and not each individual injury HOWEVER each individual injury MUST be considered and reported upon BEFORE all of the injuries can be placed into one for valuation of your claim.  Does that make sense?

The medical report you have sounds to me to be a standard defendant expert providing them with the best outcome possible for them to be able to say here you go arent we nice here is Â?1800.

I guarantee to you if you use our solicitors or any other you would double that offer within a week.  Then once we have medical evidence tripple or quadruple it.  Companies like Eddie Stobart etc will have high policy excesses and they will want to keep your claim to a minimum as possibly it would be coming out of their own funds.

It is nonsense to say that your psychological injuries can not be considered the reason they dont want them to be is due to the fact that if genuinely you have sufferred PTSD then your claim could be worth a considerable sum.  Â?10,000's not just Â?1000's.  So please be very cautious as to how you proceed.

I would recomend that you contact me for a no obligation chat I can advise you accordingly.  If you wish to use our services then all well and good, if not at least I can rest knowing that I have pointed you in the right direction!
