Someone trying to pull a fast 1....Please help

Hi guys I hope you can help.

Last Dember 2009 I had a minor accident when pulling out of a road. I dinked the back of someones car which cause a small dent.

I offered to pay damages even though i though they were messing me around with the work I had to pay for was Â?325. Even though I didnt think the damage was that much I paid the sum anyways.

Received a text message today (nearly a year after) with her asking for my registration number. She says that she has received an injury that she is going to claim compensation for. I think she is trying to pull another fast 1.

Am I at liberty now to give her my registration? Legally where do i stand?

Please help

A person has three years from date of imjury or date of knowledge whichever is the sooner to make a personal injury claim.

1 year after the event is not uncommon, however depending on what the severity of the injuries are will determine the credibillity of the claim.

Your insurance will still cover you.  You would be wise to contact your insurance company advise themn of what has happened but also get them to flag up that you suspect it may be a scam claim.

They should be happy to advise you and take over all correspondence from the claimant and deal with it as if the incident had just occured.
