MORRISONS FALL - THEY DENY SO SOLICITOR WON'T NOW ACT!
I would be interested to know if anyone knows of a website anywhere which discusses accident claims against supermarkets. I was claiming against Morrisons after slipping on a wet patch on the floor. I had a photo of the wet patch and the piece of paper that made me slip; morrisons staff were useless until my husband raised a fuss as I was clearly quite badly injured. They eventually offered to call an ambulance and provided me with a chair, offered first aid, took details, cleaned up the wet floor (the manager himself did this) etc. However, my solicitors now tell me that they won't pursue a claim because Morrisons deny liability. Well of course they are hardly going to jump up and down shouting we did it are they? I sustained quite a nasty twisting injury to my knee which necessitated a visit to the hospital. immobilisation and strong painkillers. I don't see how anyone can just turn round and say, "nope, they say they have a 'clean as they go' policy and therefore they must be right! I nearly took the woman in front of me down at the same time when I fell but, due to the behaviour of a member of staff (who I believe has subsequently been sacked), and the lack of immediate assistance from staff when I was on the floor, the lady paid for her shopping and left without me getting any details. My husband asked for a copy of the first aid book showing my accident (asked at the time) but they refused so we have no idea whether it was even entered in their book (they took the details down on a tiny scrap of paper). I'd like to find out if anyone else has had this type of response and then been successful. Perhaps my solicitor works for Morrisons too! I feel I have been treated very shabbily by both solicitor and Morrisons who refused until 11 months after the incident and despite a Court Order to even provide details of their defence or documents! Thanks for any advice.
