Claim For Loss Of Earnings

Hi I am looking for some advice on claiming for loss of earnings from my previous employer. Whilst working for them as a home Care Assistant myself and a colleague were working when there was a heavy snowfall. We were unable to drive to a clients house as we usually would as the snow ws too bad on the roads. We were told by work to get there anyway we could, we parked and walked down the road where I slipped and fell resulting in a shoulder injury. WE advised work of this and I filled in an accident form, I tried to return to work but was unable to move my left arm so had to go on sick pay, i asked for an office position but was told there was none available. I am still undergoing treaatment on my shoulder the latest being that I am awaiting an MRI scan then possible surgery on a suspected tendon tear, I left the company in May as I am no longer able to carry out my work and have not worked since. I feel they should pay me for loss of earnings since my accident in January because if they wanted us to work in the snow they should accept responsibility. I am unable to carry out any kind of work untill my shoulder is fixed and even then dont know if I will ever be able to do care work again!!
