crohns negligence
I have a solicitor (legal aid) and it has been found(indepent review) that my consultant and the A&E dept were in breach of duty as if steroids had been given jan or feb surgery would have been avoided. I was diagnosed with crohns in 1996 but was virtually assymptomatic until jan 06 when i complained of excrutiating pain to my consultant, he told me he thought it was IBS? strange as i am under him for crohns, several trips to a&e and gp only to be told it was a bladder infection ended in late march 06 with emergency admittance to A&e where a ct scan found a large abcess that resulted in a large section of bowel being removed. I now suffer bowel incontinence, monthly b12 injections, exhaustion and quarterly iron infusions, excessive scarring but had been advised that due to balance of probability i would probably have needed surgery within 10 years of diagnosis that my claim is only worth 3000 for the pain caused between Jan-mar 06. Is this right? solicitor does not do no win no fee and said i will struggle to legal aid to take this to trial due to cost/benefit. I can not believe this and i am devasted. Is this advice correct? Please help
