being attacked by the wild animal on the camp site

I went for the camp site with my school mates last summer time. He had nice time and we wanted to wind down after months of the hard work. We had a fireplace and we were drinlking some alcohol enjoying the time together. One night, we decided to be more calm and go to sleep earlier without having party as we wanted to get up early and go hiking. It came out later that it was our mistake. As it was quiet the wild animals had courage to come over closer. It was bad luck that a couple of friends were sitting in some distance from our tents - they wanted to talk witohut disturbing the rest. The sow became very angry as her kittens mistakely came over my friends too close. She attacked them. It was a disaster. The ambulance in the middle of the night and long hour of operations... My mate will never be able to walk properly and his girlfried has deformed face and problems with an eye. Is it possible to make tohe owner of the campsite liable? We thought that we are protectesd somehow but it came out later that the fence was damaged. What is more the owner of the camp site appeared on the place immidiately but he didn't lift a finguer to help us to ward off the visious attack of the animal.. What's your opinion about thi case?
