Help with accident 16 months ago

Hi can anyone help. In June 2008 as i was pulling out of a junction the driver in front braked hard and i hit the back of him. We both stopped and checked our vehicles and could see no damage however we exchanged names,address and phone number. This was the last i heard about it until today when i received a letter from a company (not insurance) saying as i had not responded to requests for insurance details i must send them Â?620 for repairs to the other vehicle.

Where do i stand with this?

Unfortunately You do not and you gave to pass the information on
I would always report any accident to your insurance company if you have exchanged details.
