Cutting hand and scalding with the heat while working in the kitchen

I am working in the kitchen. Once, when I was choppin the vegetables there was a problem wit the currency. Due to the fact that irt happened suddenly I cuted my hand with a big knife. When my friend wanted to help me she knocked of the boiling soup. Both of us were burnt and.. both of us lost jobs! The employer told us that we are extremly careless and due to the fact that we made a great mess in his kitchen we are not to be paid for the last day of work!
Being in pain due to the burns I became totally dependant on my family because I had also serious injury of my hand. I still have to go for the rehabilitation and I am taking the pain killers due to the fact that the wounded hand is not fuly cured. I don't blame my friend because she simply wanted to help me. It was not her fault as it was dark in the kitchen when the accident occured.
Did he have ight to dismiss us? Who will pay for my compensation then? Who will give me back money for medical help?
