accident at work - light bulb factory

Hello,
I have accident in light bulb factory last week. I almost lost my left eye! Now I can see on this eye, but not to good! Doctor said it will need special medical operation. It is very expensive and I should cover it by myself.
My employer said (so kind!! ) that he will cover 50% of costs! It's noting, because rest of it I will need to pay by myself! I donot have any money.
Accident occured because of fault my work-mate. He have now some problems because of it (he lost a job, it was realy stupid joke from his side!). But my employer said I should be quite and don't want to raport accident in H&S. What should I do?
