passanger injured as a result of an car accident

A friend of my had a car crash in which I was a passenger. The doctor said I have got mild whiplash. Can I claim for this without my friend getting involved?

currently in same possitions yes your friend will get involved and if u claim there insurance will be higher as a result of u making a claim and how much you recieve depends how much there insurance increases.
