the culprit ran away- who can compensate our pain?

I with all my family were a accident during the travel on holiday. we went to Playmouth when driving  a van hit in my car and ran away. There were another car- wittness but not stoped. I called tle police and ambulance because were injured. My wife has a slipped disc, I hit y head in the plank with seat belt and break a small finger. Unfortunately my daughter came to no harm. who can compensate our pain and disability?
