accident should i get a lawyer

I had an accident a few months ago where the bosses father dropped a large lump of steel on me breaking my thigh bone and pelvis. The people I was working for have been really good letting me stay at their place until I could travel home and sorted anything I needed.

They got hold of their insurance company, NFU, to come out and see me to see what I need. An OT is coming out to see me and given me an interim payment. they've asked me for anything else I may need that they could sort out.

They also said that as a rough guide only, i'd get 50-60k comp. minus any interim payments made. If i was to get a laywer in, not only would they try and reduce this pot, their payment would come out of this pot also.

Does this sound right to any one. I'm not after a million pounds just what i'm alound. Don't won't to be given ?100 and told to be on my way.

why not ask citizens advice beuro ( i think thats how you spell it ) i dont think they would take it out of your compensation but at least they would be a independent governing body who would negotiate the best amount for you, 50 - 60 k sounds alot but for someone who has been affected for the rest of their life, i dont think thats enough, i know of someone who got 350k as a result of someone else's fault, dont feel guilty in claiming, its a legal procedure, .....good luck.
