Should I have surgery??

Some months ago I was in a collision at 60 MPH resulting in Whiplash and Jaw out of place. Liability was accepted by the other party. I have now been told by the independent dentist that I need to see surgeon to fix jaw. I am not in a position at the moment to take any time off work as it is a training post which can't be later compensated for. I have learnt to live with the jaw (soft diet and brace while sleeping) so will be happy to wait for treatment with the NHS in a couple of years. Will this effect my claim? The dentist explained that it doesn't look good if you dont follow their recommedation  however surgery just isn't an option at the moment. Whiplash has now resolved. Any comments would be great.
Thanks

Katie,

I can understand that your training too is necessary but I would suggest to follow what the dentist said and avoid any serious issue that could arise in future. You never know when what is happening inside your body especially when you met certain injury. Along with that I think it may also effect in getting compensation.
