Whiplash claim

I was rear ended by a driver doing about 30mph in June 11. Her car was a write off and mine had extensive damage.
The day after the accident I was in pain and felt sick and faint, I went to hospital and was told it was whiplash and shock.
In the first couple of weeks after I had minor pain and stiffness and was referred to see a GP by my solicitor who told me I did not need Physio and would recover in 4 months. I decided to wait until the end of the four month prognosis period before settling.
A few weeks later and I had bad neck pain and shoulder pain and saw my own GP who referred me for a course of Physio in August 2011. This helped and my pain was minor but by December I was in agony worse than ever, neck pain, tingling, shoulder and lower back pain and pins and needles. My GP has prescribed me pain meds and I am now awaiting a second course of Physio.
In the mean time I am waiting for an orthopaedic assessment from a consultant which has been arranged by my solicitor for a further assessment. My solicitor tried to talk me out of this and get me to settle and said I could be liable for the consultants fees of CĀ?700 if the report does not progress my claim. So I am now waiting for an appointment with the consultant and also waiting for NHS Physio, in the meantime in agony on a daily basis.
I am more concerned with the pain being relieved than any financial gain, I just wish I could be referred for some private Physio or Chiropractor treatment but I could be waiting 2-3 months before my appointment with a consultant so nothing can be done until then. I feel that my solicitor are providing a bad service, if I email them it takes 2 weeks for a response. They aren't local and seem to be a conveyer belt type solicitor.
