Ground works

Hi

Last night whilst working away i took a trip to my van located in the hotels private car park. I crossed the front of the van then turned right to go to the drivers door when i fell half down a open part of some ground works, i scrapped my left leg and then landed on my knees on some rubble. The car was pitch black there was no warning that there had any work done nor was the hole covered or had a barrier around it. they parked a car half over the hole thinking this would be fine. Today an my knee is throbbing an the lower back pains are terrible. Am going to go the the walk in doctors tomorrow as ive taken pain killers to help tonight. Just want to know really where i stand with this do they have a right to protect people staying at the hotel or are they free to have this sort of this open for people to injure them selfs on

Thanks alot

Karl

Been to the Doctors this morning,

She said i have badly bruised or damaged a muscle in my knee, which i have to keep an eye on for the next few weeks. If it gets any worse ive been advised by her to go stright to A&E, She said the pain in my lower back will be from the jolt of falling an is a kind of whiplash injury an will get more painfull before it starts to get better. Ive been giving stong painkillers to help with the pain an to help me sleep.

Do i have a valid claim if i wanted to claim agiast the hotel/Ground works company for not making the hole safe?

Hi Karl,

It sounds as though you are certainly entitled to a claim. We would be happy to put your case forward to our solicitors to handle and you would be required to pay no fees at any point.

Feel free to contact me by telephone on: 0845 257 8967 to discuss the incident in greater detail , we will then discuss the incident with our expert panel of solicitors to make sure there is a valid claim and take action from there.

Kind regards,
