compensation PI update

Had a letter from my solicitor asking if i want to put in an offer of 2700 for my whiplash claim, which i am happy to do but this is more than he thinks its worth for negotiation reasons so anyone work in insurance or did and can tell me what the other side might offer? Do they have a certain system where they take off a certain percentage? I doubt they will accept that amount considering 2 months ago they offered me 1395 or something close
