Whiplash injury plus had to give up work as afraid of driving

I was hit from behind by a container truck on the motorway on way home from work (his fault) and suffered whiplash as a result. Unfortunately the upshot of this is that I'm frightened of driving on the motorway way now and have had to give up my job as a result (work is 62 miles away via m/way and trains are not an option).

I know I can claim for the whiplash but can I claim for having to give up my job?

Yes, it is all considered as part of your claim and will form part of what is called Special Damages.

However, you would be expected to mitigate some of your losses by seeking or looking for suitable alternative employment.

Hi

You may be suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) if you are afraid to drive.

Call me on 01706 655200 and we can advise all for free.

In relation to job loss, you can only make a claim if you a an employment contract.
