drug side affect caused diabetes

i was prescribed  an antipsychotic drug in 2005, in 2008 i was told i had type 2 diabetes, in 2009 the doctor confirmed that the antipsychotic had caused the diabetes, is there grounds for me to claim compensation, thank you.
