Hi braveheart2009
You are entitled to make a claim if the accident happened within the past 2-3 years. To support your claim for compensation you will need to provide your solicitor with the following details so that they can access if you are eligible:
Have reported this to a supervisor/manager
Have sufficient medical evidence to support the pain, suffering and prognosis of your injury.
Inform your solicitor if the accident was recorded in the accident at work book.
Provide your solicitor with any photographic evidence you can supply of the accident scene and of your injury.
Provide the contact name and telephone number of any independant witnesses who witnessed the accident.
In regards to financial loss, if your GP has signed you off, provide any copies of doctors notes, prescriptions or receipts for any medical treatment you have had to pay for. Also keep a copy of any recent wage slips. Your solicitor will need to obtain the relevant documentation to support the financial loss you have incurred when considering any award for compensation.
I hope this helps.
