Car Accident - Compensation advice

Hi,

I was recently involved in a car accident - I was stopped in a traffic queue and was rear ended.  The driver immediately admitted liability and the next day I received a call from his insurance company taking responsibility which was followed up by a letter from them stating it was not my fault.  So liability was quickly established.
Even though it was a low speed collision, I am a big man - 22 stone and suffered the following injuries
!/ Severe stiffness and pain to the rear of my neck, shoulder and chest. I cannot fully turn my head now in eaither direction and although I can tilt my head forward fully, I cannot tilt it backwards more than halfway.
2/ I was holding the gear stick with my left hand at the time of he collision, and have suffered severe pain since.  I have had it x-rayed and put into a splint.  It is possible that i have a scaphoid fracture , however I have to go back for another x-ray next week to confirm.  if not it is likely that I have injured the tissue in the wrist area.  this has effected me greatly as I am not able to properly care for my daughter who is 15 months old, nor drive etc so am housebound unless my wife is at home or I have to rely on someone else to drive me around.
3/  My lower back is in extreme pain, although I suffered from a slipped disc approximately 6 years ago, I have had no pain in this area since, but following the accident I am in a lot of pain in my back and running down my left buttock and leg.
4/ At the time of the collision, I had my right foot pressed on the foot brake, and I have not been left with a very stiff ankle, which is cracking every time I move it. It is not broken ( following x-ray) but appears to have swelling and tissue damage.

I am with a solictor but to be honest they don't seem to be paying my injuries to much interest - I would like to know if I could get some solid advbice on what the compensation amount for my injuries should be - somewhere in the region of would help because all the guidelines I have been given is so braod that it does not help my situation at all.

I should explain that I am a mature student, and my car was a 2000 reg. skoda that I have owned for years and was mechanically perfect and in top cosmetic condition, but cos of this accident it is likely to be written off and to be honest, for the amount I am going to receive for it, a measly Â?750 - is not going to buy me anything so I need to know a rough figure to see if I can afford to buy a slightly better car for the family without stretching myself financially when my only income is student loans.

Thank you in anticipation of your valued answers.

asking for a solid amount you will be paid in compensation isn't exactly an easy question to answer, it is the solicitors job after they have checked the medical records to assess what you will receive, although the amount of injury is valued it is the quantum which plays a big part in how much you will be given, plus if you state all of your other losses such as if you hold a gym membership that you cant use now, u can claim for that back (example only) its things like that which increase your total compensation
