accident car - hit on cross walk by car who run away

Last week when I walked to my job, I passed the street. Of course I first checked is there any car on roads and when I cross the road some car driving very fast and hit me! Driver run away from accident place. I was taken to hospital where I was 8 days.
I had broken leg.
Where I should go and what should i do to get compensation claim? I don't have any insurance in my job, only NI and  European Helth Inssurans Card.
what can I do?
