Neck and shoulder injury - car accident

I had a car accident a couple of days ago. It was not my fault. I have got very painful neck and shoulders and my doctor said that it may be even more painful after a week or two and can last up to few months. I had to stay at home as I do not feel well enough to go to work. The insurance company offers me 1500 GBP as a compensation. Is it a reasonable offer? Should I accept it? can I negotiate the compensation with them?
