motorcycle accident

Driving a motorcycle with my colleague I had an accident. Suddenly a deer ran into the road. My friend did not manage to brake. I turned down 10 yards away into the ditch. We barely survived. I had a broken femur, a concussion and the abrasions on the body. Can I apply for compensation in this case? It is very difficult because we did not go fast.
