Accident at work 2

Hi. To follow up my brief interpretation as to what happened ,and how my now disability has forced me to be absent from work for over 12 months.
I currently have a solicitor representing me, it was from one of those no win no fee adverts on TV.  I have never met the solicitor representing me but we do correspond via e mail. I am due for a medical on 2nd October which is to decide if Im to be re de ployed in some other capacity in the company I work for. I am a plasterer and employed to do that job. However, since my accident which resulted in a cartilage operation I have been unable to do that job any longer because of the disability Im left with. The surgeon who performed the op told me afterwards, they had removed a large amount of cartilage and I now have bone rubbing on bone causing Osteo athritis. I stuggle to walk a distance and Im in constant pain. The medical also is for the solicitors report which will represent my current state when my case goes to court, if it goes that far.
I believe my company are only ticking the correct boxes and regardless of my condition they will finish me probably on the grounds of ill health. At the moment there is a redundancy scheme in operation and a considerable percentage of workers like myself are to be made redundant. They are offering a decent package for employees who have been there for many years like myself. Would I be entitled to this redundancy or is the grounds of ill health an excuse to get without me by not paying me a redundancy payment.  I have asked my solicitor be he tells me he is no employement solicitor and does not know. Is there anyone on here who may be able to give me more info.

Regards Jeff Chandler.
