If the other driver left the scene there is not a lot you can do about the loss
of your car. If you have comprehensive insurance you can claim the cost on your
insurance. If not you will have to pay to get your car repaired. You can claim
agianst the Motor Insurers Bureau for your injuries. You can get more information
about this from www.mib.org.uk

I agree with the second post, if you have no witnesses and the driver fled the seen of the accident then there is little you can do. Just hope you can claim of your own insurance company, some companies do let you do that.

Not a question but just thought I would share my experience. I was involved in an accident around 2 months ago, where a driver crashed into me from behind at a junction. I had literally no idea how to go about claiming so I rang the first company that came up on google. I had my car towed away and stored and I recieved Â?2500 for whiplash after about 6 weeks. Couldn't have been happier as I had so many misconceptions about claiming compensation. If anyone else would like to try out this company I will leave a name and number at the bottom because to be honest I couldn't have asked for more.

I'm not really sure because surely when you put in a claim for whiplash you have to give details of the third party involved becuase they need to investigate the cause of the whiplash and find out whos liable? you have 5 years after the accident i think.

As far as your car goes, as previously mentioned if you've got fully comp your ok, but you should still call the police and report it, maybe they can still find the guy who hit you, why didn't you call the police at the time? if you did this you'd be ok, as you said he hit you from the back so straight away he is at fault.

Best thing to do is talk to an accident claims solicitor about it

ok, if they have fled the scene then it will go down through MIB (motor insurance bureau) insurance companys pay the MIB for cases like this and for if your hit by an uninsured driver, there are two forms of it, traced and untraced, they are exactly how they sound if they fled the scene it is an untraced but if they are uninsured and you have details such as their car reg and name and such then it is traced, it is more of a police matter then as a police referance number is needed for the claim to go through, hope this helps.

There are many companies out there who would want to help but I came across one that helped me with my claim and gave me a Â?350 upfront bonus within 14 days of me placing a claim! I was well chuffed and I still got 100% compensation on a no win no fee basis so in total I received Â?2850 I would highly recommend these guys, with cash bonus you can't go wrong.
