rupture - lift the heavy objects

During my working, when I was lifting a lof  of  kilograms every day (about 8500) I felt a prick groin. It tourned out, it's a rupture. I noticed injured my boss and later underwent an operation.  After 3 weeks I came back to work, in spite of doctors forbade me to go to work throug 6 months. The boss paid only for 3 days holiday I work, in splite of i shouldn't lift any weight  above 2 kilograms. Is it chance claim a compensation. I have alls documents. Thanks for your help.
